Minds Matter is Expanding Across Colorado!

This time last year, Minds Matter Denver officially changed its name to Minds Matter Colorado as we embarked on a bold venture to expand the program’s success to other cities across the state. We’re now proud to announce that our first ever class outside of Denver is launching on October 5th in Colorado Springs

Five students from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs are joining our three-year program to achieve their educational dreams. We selected Colorado Springs because there’s a great community, an emerging history of connection and partnerships between key organizations and a strong drive in the community to provide access to college for driven and determined high school students from low-income families, like those in Minds Matter. This expansion to Colorado Springs makes Minds Matter Colorado the first Minds Matter chapter in the country (of 14) to expand beyond our home city.

But we’re not stopping there — we’re happy to announce that Minds Matter is on track to launch our fifth Colorado site in next Fall in Aurora! We are expanding beyond the three sites in Denver and our new site in Colorado Springs to serve the students of Aurora starting in 2021. We are in the final stages of working with Aurora Community Connection, Aurora Central, and Aurora West to set up our first site and recruit our first class of Aurora students.

Our expansion into Colorado Springs and Aurora is just the beginning of our 10-year vision to provide access to Minds Matter to every eligible student, corner-to-corner across Colorado. We have even more expansion plans in development for the next three years, and further details will be released in the coming months. So stay tuned for the latest updates.

It’s an exciting time at Minds Matter Colorado as our Denver and Colorado Springs mentees start the school year and the final touches are placed on our Aurora program for fall 2021. We are grateful for the continued support of our Mentors, donors, partners and volunteers who help us reach even more eligible students across the state. Our goals may be bold, but we know we can achieve them together. Go Minds!
